Paramount Network

Spike TV initially launched as “The First Network for Men” in 2003. It later shortened to SPIKE and found it itself going through various programming shifts including action, reality TV and general entertainment.

As a member of a hand-picked swat team, rather than build on any brand equity SPIKE may have built, we recognized there was an opportunity to leverage the prestige of Paramount Pictures. It was a property that already lived in the Viacom ecosystem and was rich in IP that could help transform the network into one built on original scripted series and premium content.

The idea was conceived in 2014 and sat for a few years before piquing the interest of then CEO, Bob Bakish who would eventually greenlight the rebrand and launch of Paramount Network in 2018.
